Michael Jordan took the signature shoe line to a whole new level during the 1980’s and by the early 90’s adidas wanted to cash in on the craze as well. Dikembe Mutombo was an all-star and runner up for rookie of the year his first season so who better to represent the brand than him. Adidas designed the ‘Mutumbo’ with the large center in mind giving the shoe a bulky silhouette for extra support and African patterns throughout. These originally released back in 1992 and did okay as far as sales go, but now it looks like the adidas ‘Mutumbo’ could make a late 2012 or early 2013 return. Nothing has been confirmed so stay with SneakerBomb for further information regarding if and when these will release.
